Colaberative Poetry

One of the wonderful activities My girlfirnd and I spend time
on is writing poetry together via email. I send a line, she
sends a line...till we have it completed. Here is a poem that
we finnished on 4 March 2006. I hope y'all like it:

A Garden Offseason
By: Emma and Jody

Roses in Winter
Mizzled upon
Clipped short

They stem from the ground
They march in orderly rows

A backdrop for a peaceful walk together--weather permitting

Leafless, bare branches
Underneath tempered sky
Bereft of birdsong

A squrrel passes by
And high tails it home

We wonder about roses in winter

In the Royal Rosarian garden
In the lovely city of Portland
In the light of relational bliss

Meandering through hand in hand
Meticulously searching our thoughts

We say what comes to mind
Finding spring in winter
